On Tuesday, 21 October 2025, Thomas Struth will receive the 2025 Soane Honors Award for Photography in New York City. Presented by the Sir John Soane’s Museum Foundation, the award recognizes visionaries whose creative work embodies the spirit and legacy of the pioneering British architect Sir John Soane. Jeff Rosenheim, Curator of the Department of Photographs at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, will deliver the laudation honoring Struth’s lasting contribution to the dialogue between photography and architecture. In his work, Thomas Struth has, for decades, redefined the possibilities of photography. His images reflect a deeply philosophical approach to seeing – one that explores human experience, observation, and the built environment. Architecture has played a central and enduring role in his artistic vision, revealing the intersections between structure, space, and society.
