Florian Süssmayr

Florian Süssmayr (born 1963) is an observer who collects anonymous messages and still lifes from everyday life, scribbles from walls and beer tables, e.g. from the Hofbräuhaus, removes their aesthetics and expressiveness from their original environment and presents them to us anew in his pictures. Motifs found in his immediate surroundings, pubs, standing bars, texts on walls, but also football and landscapes can be found in his works as excerpts from his personal world. Technically, he varies between painting, frottage, photography and reverse glass paintings. Süssmayr comes from the Munich political-artistic subculture of the 1980s. He developed his painting style through film and photography.
