“News from the Near Future” is a major group exhibition celebrating the 30th anniversary ofthe Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo, presented across two venues in Turin: the Foundation and the Museo Nazionale dell’Automobile (MAUTO). At the Foundation, the exhibition unfolds across three thematic sections: the body and its tensions; the social and political dimension of identity; and future imaginaries. At MAUTO, the exhibition explores connections between recent art history and the Foundation’s collection through four themes: the body, memory and time, digital and virtual realities, and nocturnal visions. Bringing together around 150 works from the Sandretto Re Rebaudengo Collection, the exhibition traces three decades of contemporary art through a non-chronological,visual archive. Historic and recent works are placed in dialogue, highlighting how artists have shaped new ways of seeing and responding to the urgencies of the present. Among the many leading figures featured are Goshka Macuga, Jeff Wall, Thomas Schütte, and Thomas Ruff, alongside a wide international roster of artists from the 1990s to today.
